Update From Orphanage

Melts my heart...  Love that she's cared for.  Love that she's loved.  Makes the waiting easier.

Jason and Tara,
Rossi is doing great and now weighs 8.4 lbs and is 21.25 inches long.  She
eats about every three hours during the day and sleeps 4-6 hours at night
between bottles.  Rossi is eating better and takes her whole bottle about
half of the time.  Other times she'll take half and ask for the rest in an
hour or so.  Occasionally Rossi will take her pacifier when she is fussy but
she isn't too attached to it.  She usually has a good burp in the middle and
at the end of her bottle and then snuggles on your chest, lays her head on
your shoulder, and goes to sleep.
Rossi is playing more all the time and likes to stretch her arms out and
wave her hands around and kick her legs.  Her hands are so pretty with her
long fingers.  Sometimes she smiles in her sleep and she has a cute dimple
on the right side of her mouth.  When she is awake Rossi is very alert and
just looks at everything around her with her big dark eyes.
Enjoy the attached pictures of your sweet girl!
Blessings this Christmas season....

Meaningful Artwork

Must have for Rossi's room.  I've only seen Stevie a couple of times, but her music has touched me for years.  I wonder if Rossi will connect to me when she hears her music like I do when I hear James Taylor, Carole King, and Mamas and Papas... and think of my mom.

Rossi's Village

We have a ton of great, lifelong friends.  Last night proved that, even more.  So many people feel involved in Rossi's process.  We're getting gifts, hugs, tears wherever we go.  Mom asked me if I feel like a Rock Star?  LOL People bought Harley raffle tickets, GOLD RUSH, Jo Jo's Zumbathon, Billy Mike's Christmas Meats sell.  Most importantly - the prayers.  All of this helped our process.  We're so thankful for each and every one of you.  I certainly believe "It Takes A Village..." and we're so thankful for ours.

Look what Misty Maddox made us!  Precious!  So, precious!  How thoughtful Misty.

Moving Right Along

Rossi got her 1st care package.  It melts my heart to know she's snuggled up with our scents.  Our homestudy has been translated. Paperwork getting her closer to home is in the works.  Mailed family and home pictures Friday for Taiwanes judge. Just ordered Taiwanese Culture books w/ photographs.  Gracious Plum is meaning of her birth name.  Found these to put in a basket, something.

Vote went through, but it will take a few years to set up.  We were told that we're probably "Grandfather'd in", anyway.  Thanks for the prayers.

Rossi Quinn!  I love you baby girl.  Daddy and I talked about you all day (like everyday) and he said, "I wonder what she's doing right now?"  We love you.  We can't wait to get you home.

Prayer Needed

I'm just learning of this vote that may change things... Pray... Copied a post below - someone who knows more than most about situation.  We have Faith, but have to admit we are nervous.  I was heartbroken when Nepal closed when we were so close.  Can't stand to think of something this time.  Praying and looking at Rossi Quinn Whitmer's picture.  God help us.

I am trying to keep everyone as up to date as possible on the "Child and Youth Welfare Law Amendment" that is in the works in Taiwan. At this time we do not have a lot of information except for what is about. Which basically is Taiwan wants to keep more adoptions in Taiwan. They want to make this happen by allowing a child to be matched to 3 couples. Each couple gets a 6month "trial period". If it... doesn't work out they can return the child. If all 3 couples return the child then the child will become available to be adopted to the States. At this time we have not been notified of any changes and until we are told otherwise then we will continue on like normal. As we all know then things in the government always run slow so hopefully nothing will be affected for quite some time...if at all. Just be in prayer for everyone involved in making the decisions in the next 24hrs. It is in its third and final stage today (Taiwan's Friday)

Rossi - Special Memory #3

Your family and friends surprised us with a small celebration.  Had to be in our garage because UK was playing and you'll learn how your daddy will be in front of the TV when Kentucky Basketball is on.  Mamaw bought balloons and decorations.  Aunt Amber had a "It's a Girl" cake.  Cole handed me a precious card and pictures of you.  Bris handed Jason and UK sock monkey.  Papaw Jimmy, Mammaw Regina, Mammaw Donna, Papaw Louie, Aunt Ashley, Uncle Clay, Aunt Amber, Cole, Bristol, Heather, Tyler, Sara, Billy Mike, Tony, Debbye, Jordan, and  Kenzie.  What a surprise!  It's a Girl!  We've all been waiting on your for a long time!

Rossi - Special Memory #2

This is the first picture I laid eyes on you! Pictures came right through.  I was talking to Aunt Ashley when I opened this first one.  I lost it.  She said, "I'll be right there!"  We hugged and balled.  One of those built up, heartfelt, loud cries.  I thank God Ashley was at her Graham home.  God planned this day...No doubt in my mind.

Rossi Day - Special Memory #1

Ted wanted to tell us both at same time.  Thank goodness I was home.  Jason was at work.  We freaked out, trying to figure this out.  We did a couple 3 way call trial runs with Clay.  Jason's boss finally got it working!  We found out about Rossi at 8:30am.  It was a long 40 minutes from Ted's first call.  (It was 10:30pm in Taiwan).

Rossi Quinn Whitmer is born!

We got THE call from Ted yesterday.  Rossi was born on Halloween at 11:43am.  She weighed 6.8 1/3 and was 21.2 inches long.  We have cried, prayed, cried, hugged, prayed, squealed.  Lord - we thank you.  It has been a 12 year roller-coaster, but she will sure make it all worth it.  We've lived a few lives already - or so we thought.  Our lives are just beginning.  I've been up since "daddy" (love the ring of that) went to work staring at pictures.  Thrilled to learn more.  Praying to get you home, baby girl.

Picked up a lucky penny in hall at school today.  (On heads).  Couldn't hurt, right?  Been "journaling" in baby journal.  Cell phone is by my side 24/7. (My students know I'm waiting on THE call.  They help listen.)  Praying...
